Born in 1979 to a Finnish mother and a Hungarian father, Reka Nyari grew up wanting to be a painter. This led her, at the age of 17, to New York City to study fine arts. Her love affair with photography started after graduating, while traveling through Asia and Europe as a model.

Reka moved back to New York in 2004 and started her career as a photographer.  She works and plays in Gotham City, creating fashion editorials, campaigns, album covers and artistic portraits.
