A note from the editor

By Christina Voss

Taboos are specific to each individual, but the experience of breaking a taboo is familiar. When we break a taboo - a rule - we feel excited, nervous, and euphoric. The act of confronting the unknown is exhilarating.

Kirsty Logan writes about her early discovery of sex chats, Chelsea writes powerfully about her own experience with taboo, debauchette remembers when porn was taboo.

There are banned books we’d like you to read, and some bizarre sex laws worth breaking (plus a bevy of corsets worth buying), and Jessie Shen wins again with her lush taboo notes.

Reto Caduff gives us Nettie, drenched and lovely, and the Dirty Story touches his model. We round up a selection of photos that explore three taboos: asphyxiation, rough sex, and public performance. And with those, debauchette writes about the pleasure of fear and shame.

I interview the beautiful Arden Leigh, a female pick-up artist, who offers her insight into a world where women prefer to be proactive in their pursuits.

And for a tenuous taboo, I chat with Stephanie Weiss, author of Eco Sex, on what and what not to put into your body.

This month’s ‘Win This’ is the Delight. This time we’re asking for photos that touch on next month’s theme: Exhibitionism. Send them to [email protected] for a chance to win the Delight and a free month of FGT.

And if you have any questions about sex, love, or relationships (but especially sex), send them to [email protected]. It’s entirely anonymous.

And as an aside: we're experimenting with video a bit. It will erotic, sometimes explicit, definitely nude, and should be awesome. If you're in the New York area and interested in taking part as a model/performer, send a note with a little info about yourself, photos (or a link to your portfolio), and your comfort level to [email protected].
