/La Perla's Lace Embrace

I've always had a penchant for beautiful clothing. I believe strongly in the art of adornment. I appreciate bold cuts, exquisite materials, creative draping and the overall results of a well-honed eye with an appreciation for subtle detail.
My first experience trying on a La Perla lingerie set placed the subsequent 'pretty things' bar very high.
I was at one of their boutiques and I picked out a set I had been coveting for weeks. I receive their newsletter which updates new ranges in their collections online. I'd been eyeing this particular set for a while.
I shimmied into it. I could scarcely feel anything next to my skin. The silk lace was feather light, like a caress. Incredible, I thought, I'm wearing a caress. Something shifted and opened in me as I looked at myself in it. The material fell softly, hugging in certain places and deftly backing off in others. There are clothes which can awaken delicacy and femininity and invoke a new persona. It's like what Milan Kundera said about music: at some point certain sounds take the leap to actually become music. Not all of them do.

I had complete adoration for the craftsmanship and in turn for the craftsman's obvious love and understanding of the female form.
Such as it was, the beginning of my love affair with La Perla. That I can count on something magical happening as I step into it, enshrines the brand into my mind and its Madison Avenue home as something special. It's also the kind of lingerie that can easily be worn underneath clothes. I know - what a thought! Some pieces of extravagant lingerie can be bulky and only suitable worn alone, as display pieces. La Perla rests happily underneath my outer garments and shines solo as well.
