Upon first glance, many of Japanese artist Naoto Kawahara's pieces look like photographs. His realist style is charmingly deceptive and takes a few moments to register as paintings. He typically begins his pieces with a Polaroid and paints from that reference. His nudes are languorous and sumptuous.
